Ailyn Lee is an interdisciplinary artist working across sculpture, painting, and video. Rooted in childhood memories of her grandmother’s antique shop in Busan, her work explores the human body and found objects as vessels of memory, longing, and desire. She transforms discarded furniture and curious fragments into uncanny, dreamlike forms. Her ideas emerge organically from the objects she encounters, her dreams, and her daily practice of automatic drawing.
Ailyn Lee (b. 1994, South Korea) received her MFA in Fine Arts and BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She has exhibited her work at A.I.R. Gallery, Latitude Gallery, and the Busan International Art Fair, among others. She has completed a residency at ISCP in New York City.
