Join us for the next session of our free workshop series One City’s Trash Is That Same City’s Treasure, led by teaching artist Cynthia Reynolds.
In this hands-on family workshop, students will create vibrant coral reef environments using modeling clay and collage materials. Inspired by the colors, textures, and forms of real coral reefs, participants will shape, build, and layer elements to form dynamic underwater landscapes.
The workshop introduces young artists to the idea of process-based art, encouraging them to focus on making, experimenting, and reworking rather than creating something permanent. Families will also discuss what makes coral reefs unique and how they are affected by climate change, connecting creative practice with environmental awareness.
Led by teaching artist Cynthia Reynolds, the NARS Saturday Free Family Workshop is designed to engage families with children 4-8 years old in creative, hands-on art activities. These workshops offer a welcoming space for families to explore contemporary art and diverse cultural expressions together in a fun and supportive environment.
Through these experiences, we aim to foster curiosity, critical thinking, confidence, active participation, and a deeper appreciation of both contemporary artistic practices and the rich cultural perspectives that shape them.
Registration preferred. This program is designed for a maximum of 20 families.

Únase a nosotros para la próxima sesión de nuestra serie de talleres gratuitos La Basura de una Ciudad es el Tesoro de Esa Misma Ciudad, dirigida por la artista docente Cynthia Reynolds.
En este taller práctico para familias, niñas, niños y sus acompañantes crearán coloridos mundos de arrecifes de coral utilizando plastilina y materiales de collage. Inspirándose en los colores, las texturas y las formas de los arrecifes reales, los participantes moldearán, construirán y combinarán distintos elementos para dar vida a paisajes submarinos llenos de imaginación.
Este taller invita a los jóvenes artistas a explorar el arte como un proceso de descubrimiento, en el que lo importante es probar, experimentar y transformar sus ideas, más que crear una obra permanente. Las familias también conversarán juntas sobre qué hace tan especiales a los arrecifes de coral y cómo el cambio climático los afecta, uniendo la creación artística con la conciencia y el cuidado del medio ambiente.
Dirigido por la artista docente Cynthia Reynolds, el Taller Familiar Gratuito de los Sábados de NARS está diseñado para involucrar a familias con niños de 4 a 8 años en actividades artísticas creativas y manuales. Estos talleres ofrecen un espacio acogedor para que las familias exploren juntas el arte contemporáneo y diversas expresiones culturales en un entorno divertido y de apoyo. A través de estas experiencias, buscamos fomentar la curiosidad, el pensamiento crítico, la confianza, la participación activa y una apreciación más profunda tanto de las prácticas artísticas contemporáneas como de las ricas perspectivas culturales que las moldean.
Se recomienda registrarse. Este programa está diseñado para un máximo de 20 familias.
