Join us on Saturday, October 17 from 3–5 pm forfor a free family workshop with artist Cynthia Reynolds. The workshop will guide participants through creating their own Yayoi Kusama-inspired pumpkin in celebration of the autumn season and the great Japanese artist.

Join us for the second session of our Saturday Free Family Workshop series, led by teaching artist Cynthia Reynolds!
In this hands-on family workshop, students will learn about Yayoi Kusama and explore her iconic imagery, use of color, and shape by applying them to decorations of their own on seasonal backgrounds. Kusama famously created and displayed polka-dotted pumpkin sculptures.
In this workshop, students will design and create their own festive pumpkins using paint, paper, and simple materials. The session will also introduce and discuss Kusama’s artwork and her obsession with dots, providing educational context to the iconic artist’s legacy.
Led by teaching artist Cynthia Reynolds, the NARS Saturday Free Family Workshop is designed to engage families with children 4-8 years old in creative, hands-on art activities. These workshops offer a welcoming space for families to explore contemporary art and diverse cultural expressions together in a fun and supportive environment.
Through these experiences, we aim to foster curiosity, critical thinking, confidence, active participation, and a deeper appreciation of both contemporary artistic practices and the rich cultural perspectives that shape them.
Registration preferred. This program is designed for a maximum of 20 families.

¡Acompáñenos en la segunda sesión de nuestra serie Taller Familiar Gratuito de los Sábados, dirigida por la artista educadora Cynthia Reynolds!
En este taller familiar práctico, los estudiantes aprenderán sobre Yayoi Kusama y explorarán sus imágenes icónicas, su uso del color y de las formas, aplicándolos a sus propias decoraciones sobre fondos de temporada. Kusama es reconocida por sus famosas esculturas de calabazas cubiertas de lunares.
En este taller, los estudiantes diseñarán y crearán sus propias calabazas festivas usando pintura, papel y materiales sencillos. La sesión también presentará y discutirá la obra de Kusama y su fascinación por los puntos, ofreciendo un contexto educativo sobre el legado de esta artista icónica.
Dirigido por la artista docente Cynthia Reynolds, el Taller Familiar Gratuito de los Sábados de NARS está diseñado para involucrar a familias con niñas y niños de 4 a 8 años en actividades artísticas creativas y prácticas. Estos talleres ofrecen un espacio acogedor donde las familias pueden explorar juntas el arte contemporáneo y diversas expresiones culturales en un ambiente divertido y de apoyo.
