Join us for the last session of our free workshop series One City’s Trash Is That Same City’s Treasure, led by teaching artist Cynthia Reynolds.
In this hands-on family workshop, students will create their own woven artworks using cardboard looms and a mix of materials collected from both indoors and outdoors. Using paper, fabric, ribbon, and natural elements like leaves, petals, and sticks, participants will explore how different textures and materials can be interlaced to form unique patterns and compositions.
Through guided demonstrations and experimentation, young artists will learn basic weaving techniques while discovering how adjusting tension, spacing, and material choices can transform the final piece. The workshop encourages students to weave together materials from different environments, reflecting on how we are connected to the spaces we inhabit—both inside and outside.
Led by teaching artist Cynthia Reynolds, the NARS Saturday Free Family Workshop is designed to engage families with children 4-8 years old in creative, hands-on art activities. These workshops offer a welcoming space for families to explore contemporary art and diverse cultural expressions together in a fun and supportive environment.
Through these experiences, we aim to foster curiosity, critical thinking, confidence, active participation, and a deeper appreciation of both contemporary artistic practices and the rich cultural perspectives that shape them.
Registration preferred. This program is designed for a maximum of 20 families.

Acompáñenos en la última sesión de nuestra serie gratuita de talleres La Basura de una Ciudad es el Tesoro de Esa Misma Ciudad, dirigida por la artista docente Cynthia Reynolds.
En este taller práctico para familias, niñas, niños y sus acompañantes crearán sus propias obras tejidas utilizando telares de cartón y una variedad de materiales recolectados tanto en interiores como en exteriores. Con papel, tela, cintas y elementos naturales como hojas, pétalos y ramitas, los participantes explorarán cómo distintas texturas y materiales pueden entrelazarse para formar composiciones y patrones únicos.
A través de demostraciones guiadas y de la experimentación, los jóvenes artistas aprenderán técnicas básicas de tejido mientras descubren cómo los cambios en la tensión, el espacio y la elección de materiales pueden transformar la obra final. El taller invita a las y los participantes a entrelazar materiales provenientes de distintos entornos, reflexionando sobre cómo estamos conectados con los espacios que habitamos, tanto dentro como fuera.
Dirigido por la artista docente Cynthia Reynolds, el Taller Familiar Gratuito de los Sábados de NARS está diseñado para involucrar a familias con niñas y niños de 4 a 8 años en actividades artísticas creativas y prácticas. Estos talleres ofrecen un espacio acogedor donde las familias pueden explorar juntas el arte contemporáneo y diversas expresiones culturales en un ambiente divertido y de apoyo.
A través de estas experiencias, buscamos fomentar la curiosidad, el pensamiento crítico, la confianza, la participación activa y una apreciación más profunda tanto de las prácticas artísticas contemporáneas como de las ricas perspectivas culturales que les dan forma.

通过老师的示范与自由尝试，孩子们将学习基础的编织方法，并在过程中发现，张力、疏密和材料选择的变化，都会为作品带来不同的效果。工作坊也鼓励大家把来自不同环境的材料编织在一起，思考我们与自己所生活和经过的空间之间的联系，无论是在室内还是室外。
由教学艺术家 Cynthia Reynolds 带领的 NARS 周六免费家庭工作坊，专为有 4 至 8 岁儿童的家庭设计，希望通过亲手参与的艺术活动，让家庭在轻松、友善的氛围中，一起接触当代艺术与多元文化表达。
